Missions & Outreach: Serving Others

Plymouth Congregational Church

Jesus’ words to “love God completely and to love your neighbor” serve as a north star for Plymouth’s life and ministries. That is especially true for our Mission-Outreach, where our goal is to love and serve our neighbors in need, near and far. Our church members respond to our neighbors’ needs in amazing and generous ways.

Within the Paso Robles community we are active in addressing the problems of hunger and homelessness. Church members volunteer at Loaves and Fishes distributing food. We prepare and serve dinners to Paso’s hungry through Paso Cares and ECHO. Each December we hold a toy drive for the Toy Bank of Greater Paso Robles and ring bells for the Salvation Army.

So many great needs exist beyond our community, and we are active there as well. Our church participates in the Heifer Project, providing life-sustaining help and supplies to our third world neighbors. We support the educations of two African students through Youth Focus on Africa Foundation and we are always ready to respond to crises wherever they occur with disaster relief.

In addition to these outreach destinations, each year we join with other United Church of Christ congregations to receive the One Great Hour of Sharing Offering (sent to the places of greatest need in our world), the Strengthen the Church Offering (supporting local churches in their work of serving their communities), the Neighbors In Need Offering (designated annually to address issues of poverty and justice in the U.S), and our Christmas Fund Mission Offering (supporting disabled and retired UCC clergy and lay workers in crisis).

Plymouth Congregational Church is a church family that keeps our hearts and hands open to helping and healing, wherever we are able, though our Mission-Outreach ministries.

Open-hearted and justice-seeking, we treasure all the generations of the beloved children of God through our practice of hospitality, our nurture of community, our willingness to learn, and our joy in putting it all to good use through service for the church and the world.

Whoever you are, and wherever you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here!
