What We Believe
Plymouth Congregational Church is part of the United Church of Christ (UCC.org) denomination.
We believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. We believe that Christ died, rose again, and called his followers to model the love, grace, teachings, and priorities that defined his whole life here on earth.
We believe that the Communion Table is open and inclusive
Communion, celebrated monthly, is open to all, at the invitation of Jesus. The table is a constant reminder that Jesus poured out his life out of love for each of us.
We believe in the ministry of all believers
While our pastor and leaders regard the work of the church as ministry, we also believe that each member and participant of the church has gifts, and that each one of us is called to minister to those around us. We seek to use our gifts together, as the body of Christ.
We believe in Christian unity
We believe that those doing the work of Christ are to work together for the witnesses of Christ, regardless of denomination or church affiliation.
We believe in the justice of God
We are called to love and serve all of God’s people. We see and care for the marginalized and distressed—in all the different ways that this presents—in our community, and the world beyond.
Open and Affirming
In keeping with the motto that “no matter who you are, or where you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here,” our congregation voted in 2022 to formally become Open and Affirming Church. We welcome into fellowship, membership, leadership, and service people of every race, gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, and disability/ability.
We base this on the call of God, the equipping of the Holy Spirit, and commitment to our mission and community tenets as a Church seeking to represent the love, grace, and inclusion of Jesus Christ.
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
John 13:34-35
For over 125 years
We’ve been standing for Jesus at the corner of 13th and Oak Street for over 125 years.
At Plymouth Congregational Church, UCC, we welcome all people as we honor our deep faith in God, and our connection to the community of Paso Robles and beyond.
Plymouth Congregational Church is a member church of the United Church of Christ. We are open and welcoming to all walks of life and people of all faith backgrounds. Our congregation honors our deep history and connection to the Central Coast. We also treasure God’s call to faith and service in today’s growing community. Change will always be part of life, but the love and mercy of Christ’s Church remains constant. Join us as we seek to honor the teachings of Christ, and the legacy of those who have gone before us.
Open-hearted and justice-seeking, we treasure all the generations of the beloved children of God through our practice of hospitality, our nurture of community, our willingness to learn, and our joy in putting it all to good use through service for the church and the world.
Whoever you are, and wherever you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here!
